Making Winter Stations and the Beach Accessible must be a Priority

Thousands of people enjoy the Toronto Winter Stations each year. The international design competition receives global recognition. These installations are thought-provoking, and bring the community together. Family Day was warm and sunny, and the beach was crowded with families, pets, neighbours and friends enjoying the beach, the lake, and the artwork.


Picking up butts tops resident’s efforts to clean up beaches

Beach resident Jane Anderson has had her fill of cigarette butts.
In her free time she combs the green spaces and beaches from Ashbridges Bay to Balmy Beach collecting the tiny stubs, then puts them in a bag for proper disposal.

Month-long Spring Sweep of the Beach cleanup planned by Toronto Lakefront Community

In recognition of Earth Day coming up on April 22, the Toronto Lakefront Community (TLC for short) is planning a community cleanup event for the Beach which will take place for the entire month of April
Jane Anderson is one of the founding members of the TLC group, which was formed back in November of 2020.
