Safe Access Initiative

TLC advocates for the public’s right to clean, safe access to City owned lakefront property. However, our support is not unconditional. We understand the necessity to protect environmentally vulnerable sites, and will support necessary and reasonable steps to protect these spaces on a case by case basis.  Many sites become vulnerable as a result of increased public access without the benefit of proper and consistent management. Once safe access is provided, it can be enjoyed by all for years to come, and we will continue in our efforts to ensure the City is moving forward in this direction.
